Partner Spotlight: Great Start To Quality
What programs do you offer for young children and their families?
Great Start to Quality provides support to Child Care Providers in the Community. We assist child care programs with quality improvement, training, and additional resources to provide quality programming to the children and families they provide services for. Additionally, Great Start to Quality provides parents access to child care programs through the Great Start to Quality website. Beginning in 2024 we implemented Child Care Navigators to help families navigate the child care and pre-school landscape. This is made possible with the support of the Ready By Five millage. We provide personal assistance to parents seeking child care and educational programs for their 0-5 year old children.
How do families enroll in your programs?
Families can access Child Care navigation services by contacting Great Start to Quality: 616-447-5678 or findchildcare@kentisd.org.
How does your organization use parent voice to inform your programs?
Great Start to Quality and Child Care Navigation use surveys, interviews and parent groups to inform the work that is happening in Early Childhood in our county.
What do you most appreciate about your GSC membership?
It is nice to have collaboration and connection with the GSC/GSFC and other community partners. The events and the meetings the GSC/GSFC hosts allow for communication and collaboration opportunities within Early Childhood in Kent County.
