August: Kid’s Zoom Meeting

Wow! What an amazing time we had at our first ever GSPC Kid’s Zoom Meeting! We understand that some of our GSPC children have missed seeing each other at our monthly meetings and playing together in childcare, so we crafted a one of a kind special meeting just for them. At the start of our call each child was given the opportunity to introduce themselves, share their birthday and tell everyone what superpower they would like to have. Their desired superpowers ranged from being invincible to being able to help others and so much more!

Next, we had a super fun scavenger hunt. The joy and excitement displayed throughout this meeting was so beautiful as the children raced to find the next object they needed to show. From finding a clean sock, to a square of toilet paper, a book, a picture of someone they love, a yellow food and more. The kids had a blast! An added bonus for some of the kiddos that participated was a McDonald’s gift card!

To conclude our meeting one of our liaisons read “Wendy The Wide-Mouthed Frog.” Truly a fun book to read and listen to – if you don’t have it be sure to check it out from your local library. After story time the children had an impromptu time of show & tell and we truly have some creative children as part of our GSPC family! The crafts that they created were dynamite!

This event was such a fun time and a great way for our families to bond with one another. Hopefully, we will be able to get these kiddos together again virtually!
